Objectives
The Association of West African Reggio Educators (AWARE) is a professional body established to promote quality standards in the implementation of the Reggio philosophy and practice of early childhood education. AWARE offers institutional and individual membership benefits which include professional development opportunities, study tours, curriculum development supports, research funding, professional networking and annual meetings.
Promote the Reggio philosophy of early childhood care and education (ECCE) in West Africa.
Foster knowledge and build the capacity of teachers and early childhood educators to connect theory to practice in the implementation of quality Reggio inspired education
Mobilize stakeholders toward prioritizing play-based ECCE across West Africa
Offer professional training, networking, conferences and study tour opportunities for practitioners
